The one with LUSH

What is LUSH?

LUSH is a UK based cosmetics company that retails at about 282.5 million a year and also sells in most of Europe, the USA and Canada. LUSH sells a variety of products that range from bathroom products like soaps, shampoos and hair care products, to makeup and facial care products that help keep your skin fresh and alive? Is that the word?

Is LUSH a vegan friendly and animal friendly company?

Yes and no. LUSH is not vegan friendly as it will often use honey and other natural animal produced substances that many vegans will not use. However they are 100% Vegetarian friendly. They are 100% animal cruelty free and they are supported by PETA. All of their products are hand made and naked packaging.

Is it worth it?

I guess that's up to you really. They have a wide price range their cheapest product will be around £2.50 and it will usually be a hand soap or a small piece of their bath squidgy things, that I don't think anyone know what they're called to be perfectly honest. If you do please comment to let me know...
Anyway there most expensive that I've seen is around £155 and that was one of their exclusive Christmas boxes that I assume comes with most of their products.
Personally I think that LUSH is fun in the tub yet really moisturising at the same time, they smell like absolute heaven and if you have acne or any other problems that make you insecure, it is more than likely they have a product that will work wonders to help you.

What do LUSH have to say about Animal Cruelty?

Recently LUSH held an event at one of their UK stores in Regent St. It was a very controversial yet necessary event that opened the eyes of many people. 24 year old Jacqueline Traide volunteered to be a 'test subject' for the day. Although a lot of the event was acting and silent her facial expressions were enough to tell you that her tears and red skin was solei not acting. She was brutally force feed, had unknown products placed on her face and at the start was lead to the window where a test bed was with a rope tied around her neck. Although the event was very much violent and upsetting to watch it gave a vital sense of realism to what animals endure. Although the most painful thing for many people was the Jacqueline was free to go home at the end of the day but about 95% of the animals would not have seen another day.

I personally think that LUSH is a plausible solution to using animal cruelty free skin and facial products and is amazing at showing us everything that animals endure when it comes to product testing.
